Our story

We make things the way we’d want them made for our own family. With nothing to hide.

Why we started

It started with one simple question.

We were reading the back of something we’d bought for our family. Simple questions. Where did it come from? Has anyone tested it? What else is in there? The pack couldn’t say. Neither could the brand.

Then we read the numbers. In 2025–26, nearly 1 in 5 food samples tested in India were unsafe, substandard or misbranded3. Researchers found lead chromate, a yellow paint pigment, added to turmeric across South Asia4.

We didn’t want another brand with a nice story on the front. We wanted one that shows its work. So that’s what we’re building: a named source for every product, every batch tested, every report public.

The Four Honest founders

The four promises

Promises are cheap. So each one comes with a job.

  1. Where does it come from?

    Honest origin

Every source named on the pack: the place, the maker, the batch. Never mystery lots.

What it obliges us to do

A named source for every product; origin and maker named on pack and site; no mystery lots.

  2. What did the lab find?

    Honest proof

An independent lab tests every batch. You can read the report before you buy.

What it obliges us to do

Independent lab test per batch (contaminants + key compound); report public before the batch goes on sale; batch number on every pack.

  3. What's actually in it?

    Honest label

Every ingredient, in plain words. Nothing hidden, no fillers, no claim we can't back with a source.

What it obliges us to do

Full plain-language ingredient list; nothing added to make it look better; every claim linked to a source.

  4. Where does my money go?

    Honest price

We show what you pay for: the source, the lab, the packaging, the delivery, and us.

What it obliges us to do

Publish a cost breakdown for every product and update it when costs change.

How we choose a product

All four answers, or it doesn’t ship.

We don’t start with what sells. We start with what we can answer for. That’s why the shelf is short. Right now, Lakadong turmeric is in the works.

  1. Find the source

We look for the best place it comes from, and the people making it that we can name.

  2. Test before we talk

Samples go to an independent lab first. If the results aren't good, we stop there.

  3. Keep the list short

One ingredient, or every ingredient in plain words. Nothing added to make it look better.

  4. Do the maths in public

We work out where every rupee goes, and we only launch when we can show it.

Things we won’t do.

  • No “100% natural” talk.

It means nothing. We'd rather show you a lab report.

  • No mystery lots.

If we can't tell you where it comes from, we won't sell it.

  • No fillers, no colour.

Not a pinch of starch. Not a drop of dye.

  • No miracle claims.

Anyone selling a cure in a pack is selling a story.

  • No fine print.

If it matters, it goes on the front of the page.

  • No fake sales.

No timers that reset. No “only 2 left” when there are 2,000.

Hold us to it.

Join the list. You’ll hear about every new batch first, and see every lab report the day it lands. If we ever break a promise, you’ll be the first to tell us.

Free. A few emails a year, only when there's something worth telling you.
